Spinach Stew

Pop quiz- what's the difference between soup, and stew?
What's that? I can't hear you, speak a little louder.
Oohh, you don't know. Well...neither did I, until I googled it today.
Soup, tends to be thinner in consistency. Stew tends to be thicker and chunkier, or so it states here.
Well I'm glad that's settled, on to more important matters.
This stew is really just basic stuff, there's nothing wowing about it. But It's healthy and hearty.
You can whip it up in less than an hour. So all you busy folk, who like to run about at a mile a minute- can not use your tight schedules as an excuse to eat badly anymore. Your welcome, I love you too.


400g frozen spinach
1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 onion chopped
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 dried lemons
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp madras
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper


Fry the chopped onions, garlic, dried lemons and spices.
Add just enough water to cover.

Throw in the thawed spinach and drained chickpeas.
Add a bit more water and bring to a gentle boil.

Lower heat to medium low, and leave to simmer 30 minutes.

Your spinach stew is now ready, you may have it with plain boiled rice or a slice of toast.
