Roasted Chicken Sumag

This dish I learned from Maryam, and it's got two attributes that I love so much. It's easy and it's delicious..or should I say tummylicious.


1 whole chicken (1-1.5 kg)
3 tbsp sumag
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Splash of olive oil


Pre-heat oven to 400 F.
Cut the chicken into 8 pieces, drizzle olive oil on each piece and rub in the prepared spices.

Roast for 1.5 hours covered, then 30 minutes uncovered- for crisping.

 Serve hot on a bed of yellow or plain rice, accompanied with a salad of your choice.
